Q. I am
very interested in getting the nutritional analysis, but have gotten
nowhere with getting a doctor to request the blood work. I’d really
appreciate your assistance in this matter. Thank you so much for helping
me to get a handle on my acne problem.
A. Nutritional
Testing Services is a (LLC) limited liability corporation set-up to
distribute diagnostic tests which, can be sent to consumers directly.
They recommend and utilize some of the top laboratories and doctors
in the country to perform the various testing procedures and analysis.
Once NTS receives the results of your test(s) from a laboratory, they
then forward it on to a doctor for analysis, interpretation and recommendations.
Since I am one of the consulting doctors for them, I can tell you
that each one of the consultants is well versed in Clinical Nutrition.
In fact, myself and at least one other of the consultant doctors are
board certified Clinical Nutritionists and board certified in Anti-Aging
Medicine. Therefor, you can expect the recommendations to be as sound
as it gets. If your doctor won't order the blood work for you, I will
be happy to assist. If you really wanted to hit a home run to wellness
and expedite your skin's recovery, I would recommend both the Nutritional
Blood Analysis and the Comprehensive Digestive Test.
Q. Who
is behind the Nutritional Testing Services address? For the Nutritional
Blood Analysis, they’ll send a report and recommendations, but how
sound are their recommendations? What are their credentials? And if
my doctor won’t order the blood work, could they do it at their lab?
One more – The Comprehensive Digestive Test also sounded like it may
help in my diagnosis –what do you think?
A. The
first thing you have to do is get away for the dermatologists for
an acne problem. Acne is better treated long term, through balancing
your body chemistry and hormones. You'll need to begin with a Nutritional
Blood Analysis. Go to www.nutritionaltest.com
to inquire. There's also a way of simulating accutane from a nutritional
perspective however, you will need to be monitored via blood liver
enzymes.
As far as insurance
goes, don't count on your current carrier helping out. Besides, your
acne condition doesn't know what kind of insurance you have. The insurance
industry has set-up insurance plans to pay mainly for drugs and surgery.
Q. A dear
friend of mine has COPD and is very depressed. She can't seem to get
straight answers from her doctors and the many medications she is
taking, and the ways and different times she must take them, are causing
her great frustration and distress.
l. Is there any
help for her other than all these medications?
2. Are there any
clinics where COPD patients, specifically, are treated?
3. Are there any
holistic-type treatments she could benefit from?
Thank you for
any advice you can give.
A. COPD
is usually caused by many years of smoking. If your friend is truly
fed-up with the typical medical ring-around-the-pharmacy-dance, I
would recommend she consider the following hollistic type approach(s.)
1. She should
have a Nutritional Blood Analysis (this advanced nutritional analysis
helps to custom design a nutritional regimen for the individual) and
will help localize weaknesses/imbalances within glands, organs and
systems.
2. A Toxic Metal
and Mineral Analysis (most smokers are contaminated with at least
one or more toxic metal ie...there are high quanities of cadmium in
burned cigarette smoke.) And, they are universally deficient in minerals
ie...calcium, magnesium, zinc, etc... This test will help to quantify
the toxics and the deficiencies.
People with chronic
health problems like your friend, need cutting-edge nutritional testing,
analysis, and recommendations. She will not receive this type of care
medically. Let her know, that naturally oriented help is available
for her.
She can get started
at www.nutritionaltest.com or call 1-800-606-8822.
I look forward
to working with her.
Q. I listen
to your show twice a month, and I'm between 60+. I would like to know
what you would recommend for toenail fungus. The drugs are expensive
and give me diarrera. Have tried direct nail applications and have
no success.
A. Topical
treatments alone against toe-nail fungus are futile. The most successful
treatments must include an internal and external assault. The most
important of which, is internal. Fungal infection such as yours, originate
as an overgrowth of fungus problem in the gastrointestinal tract.
Then and it travels throughout your blood stream, eventually camping-out
under a nice moist dark warm area such as the toe nail.
The only chance
you have short of having someone torture you by removing the toe nails,
is to fix the gastrointestinal overgrowth of fungus. Concurrently,
we can also work on the surface issue. To get started, you'll need
a Comprehensive Digestive Test. Please go to www.nutritionaltest.com
and inquire/order the testing kit.
Q. If I'm already
taking lots of antioxidant supplements, why do I need to test myself
with The Free Radical Test Kit?
A. I'm glad to know that
you realize the health value of taking antioxidants. However, just
as the saying goes, "to much of a good thing can be a problem". Our
bodies rely on a certain amount of free radical activity to mount
an immune system response as needed, against foreign organisms i.e.
bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens. Therefor, if you are taking
too many antioxidants you may be setting yourself-up for a super infection.
The Free Radical Test will help to determine the level of antioxidant
support your body needs without guessing. This will intern decrease
the potential for overdosing, wasting money and down-regulation of
your immune system.
Q. I understand, that there are many different
types of antioxidant vitamins like vitamin C and vitamin E, but does
The Free Radical Test Kit test for all different kinds of antioxidants?
A. The Free Radical Test
measures end by-products in the urine, which indicate oxidative damage
or overload. A high reading or darker coloration on the easy to read
guide indicates the need for increased over all antioxidant support.
This is best accomplished by taking a high potency antioxidant formula.
Otherwise, you end-up taking lots of different kinds of antioxidants,
which becomes confusing and expensive.
Q. I'm concerned about my husband because he
works well over 40 hours per week and is under a lot of stress. If
he used The Free Radical Kit would it benefit his health?
A. According to many health
experts, up to 75% of primary doctor visits are in some way associated
with stress. By monitoring free radical activity via The Free Radical
Kit, you will be able to find out what level of antioxidant
supplementation his body requires in order to avoid a health crisis
in the future. Additionally, he should consider taking the Stress
Test. High levels of stress hormones over time could wreck havoc on
the entire body. By measuring his levels, we can determine which nutritional
supplements to recommend in order to help counteract the adverse effects
of high stress hormones.
Q. I'm interested in finding out what my system
is lacking vitamin wise however, with exception of a couple of the
tests offered, why are the tests so expensive?
A. I guess everybody has
their own definition of expensive. Actually, you'll discover in time,
that the money you save by not becoming sick far and away exceeds
your initial investment. And, could you think of a better investment
than your health? Besides, the convenience and lack of hassle associated
with "at home" nutritional testing, coupled with the fact that most
Doctors don't understand clinical nutrition or even offer it.
Q. I need more info on the Salivary Hormone Test;
is it something a GP can do or is a homeopathic inclined person best
suited for the job? Also, is this a more accurate test than the testosterone,
prolactin, and other tests that have already been done?
A. It is unlikely, that
you'll find a G.P. who performs Salivary Hormones tests or understands
how to treat an imbalance without drugs if one should be detected.
Salivary Hormone analysis can measure testosterone, estrogen, progesterone,
dhea, cortisol, melatonin, etc. and more accurately than serum blood
analysis. The reason it's more reliable is because it's done over
a period of time as opposed to a blood draw, which simply provides
a snap-shot of what's going-on at that particular instant. In addition,
because hormones are always ebbing and flowing ie...certain hormones
are in richer concentrations in the a.m. vs. p.m. if someone happens
to draw the blood at the wrong time, you'll receive false positive
or false negative information. I hope this information helps you understand
why Salivary Hormone Testing is a superior methodology, if one is
to expect accurate results. Keep in mind also, that if you have testing
of any kind through Nutritional Testing Services, a physician/board
certified clinical nutritionist will be doing the analysis and recommending.
Q. Dear Nutritionaltest.com, I recently visited
my medical doctor because I haven't been feeling well for awhile.
He examined me and ordered a series of blood tests. After 3 visits
to his office and alot of worrying about what he was going to find,
I was told, that everything including my blood tests results were
all normal. My doctor tried to blame the way I feel on some psychological
problem he felt I have and attempted to prescribe an antidepressant
drug, which I refused. Why is it, that I feel sick and unhealthy and
my doctor says, "everything is perfectly normal."
A. Dear Mary, You're not
alone! Millions of people every year experience the same exact situation.
Your medical doctor has been trained to look for crisis imbalances
associated with blood laboratory findings. In other words, until your
blood test findings reach a certain level of concern, everything is
perfectly normal. This model subscribes to the theory, that you're
healthy until you're really sick. Unfortunately this is the very thinking
that's gotten us into the health care crisis we face today ie...fix
it when it breaks and not before. On the other hand, Nutritional Blood
Analysis and preventive care analysis in general is often able to
detect and warn of subtle changes in a persons blood tests, similar
to a weather forecaster spotting a weather pattern or trend. This
in tern, allows for an early warning system and understanding, that
there's imminent danger on the way. Nutritional Blood Analysis utilizes
a different range or set of numbers by which to determine where your
blood test values should be ideally. If your blood test values fall
outside of an optimal range of blood values, your body is indicating
the presence of dysfunction and imbalance. If caught early enough,
nutritional balancing, dietary modification, and other lifestyle changes
can be made in order to thwart whatever illness pattern is starting
to get a foot hold. The analysis itself takes several hours and is
interpreted by Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Physician.
You will receive an easy to understand written report of findings
and recommendations. Once you've been exposed to this type of preventive
health care philosophy and analysis, you'll be a much better educated
health care consumer. Additionally, if anyone in the future try's
to tell you that your ill feelings are all in your head and you're
simply in need of couch time or drug's, you'll be able learn the real
reason for the symptoms and better yet, be able to do something to
help yourself..... Naturally!
